Diaper rash (U.S.) or nappy rash (UK), is a generic term applied to skin rashes in the diaper area that are caused by a various skin disorders and/or irritants. These can be of different types, the most common ones are:

Irritant diaper dermatitis;

This occurs when a baby's sensitive skin is exposed to irritants like fecal matter and urine for long periods of time

Candidal Dermatitis

This is a rash caused by a yeast/fungl infection. Children on antibiotics are more prone to suffer from this type of dermatitis.

Other less common forms include;
  • Seborrheic Dermatitis
  • Atopic or allergic Dermatitis
