Maintaining skin during hot and lengthy summer is an important part of beauty regimen.

As global warming is rising, summers are getting longer and hotter through out the world. What about the countries with summer being already the longest season of the year? Obviously it is a difficult condition to cope with. Among other problems, an important one is to take care of skin in hot and lengthy summers. As climate is getting hotter, skin will be more sensitive and require greater care. Just a little negligence can ruin your freshness and rob off your beauty.
Protect yourself in hot summers
In spite of hot climate that brings pronounced sweating, humid and sticky skin which feels so bad, a little extra care and proper cleaning can make your skin glow. The most important part of summer skin care is to keep your skins clean particularly that of face. With sweating and humidity, a lot of contaminations are prone to deposit on your face and body leading to clogged pores. This in turn results in pimples and blackheads. The best way to prevent this is to clean your skin multiple times a day with a mild face wash and sometimes only with plain water. This prevents accumulation of dead cells, excess oils and dust particles preventing clogged pores. Besides washing do at least once a day to properly remove away all debris and oils.
Is this enough to keep your skin perfectly clean during hot and humid summers? No, in spite of daily cleansing and washing you are likely to get some dead cells and grime deposited on your body. This may ruin your dream of year-round glowing skin. The problem can be solved by exfoliating your body at least twice a week. You can do this with a mild fruit scrub like raspberry, peach, orange or aloe Vera. Yet the second option is to make your own scrub with natural ingredients from your kitchen. Here is a simple recipe from Victorian age to promote smooth complexion and wrinkle free skin. Just take
- 3 ounces of finely ground oat or barley,
- One ounce honey
- One beaten egg white
Mix well to make a paste and apply to whole face avoiding eye areas. Let it work for 15 to 20 minutes. Now gently massage over your skin while washing away with tepid water. As you massage barley or oatmeal offers a mild exfoliant to help shed dry, dead skin while honey leaves your skin soft and smooth.
Always keep a good sunscreen in your bag
Another important aspect of summer skin care is to protect your skin from hot shinning sun; this can directly damage your skin layers, robbing away the moisture giving you a dull, flaky skin. Always remember a life span of too much sun exposure shows the way to excessively wrinkled skin in a comparatively early age. There are multiple ways to shield your skin from straight sun exposure. The best answer is to stay inside between hottest hours that is from 10:00 am till 4:00 pm. If at all it is inevitable to go outside, try to protect your face either with a veil, a broad brimmed hat or an umbrella. Always use a good sun glasses to protect your eyes as well as skin around the eyes. Squeezing your eyes in direct sunlight can cause different eye problems including inflammation, sun burn as well as cataract in case of long exposure. What about the surrounding skin? It is seen that people who are in a habit of staying in sun light without any protective barrier are more likely to develop wrinkles around eyes at an earlier stage.
Take special care of your diet in summers to keep yourself fresh and lively. Sweating is likely to cause loss of fluid from your body. In order to maintain body fluid level, take an adequate amount of fluids in the form of plain water as well as fresh juices. In case of severe perspiration, juices, squashes and lemonade are better options as these also help to compensate mineral losses associated with sweating. Drinking two or more glasses of water empty stomach early in the morning is known to cleanse stomach and maintain your body in good physical shape.
Take fresh fruits to keep your skin fresh and glowing
Go for fruits, in summers you can find a large variety of fruits that are good for your skin and body. Summer fruits like water melon, plum and grapes are rich in water contents and help to maintain body water levels. Another very widespread summer fruit is guava; these small fruits are rich in some very important age- and inflammation-fighting antioxidants like vitamin C and lycopene. And they also were richest in fiber when compared with other tropical fruits in a recent study. Still another fruit good for skin is papaya, a fruit that helps you to fight wrinkles from inside out. A good intake of papaya helps to keep you fresh and young.
